Surely one of the most extraordinary posters created for the French Line. The jewel in the lines crown, the Normandie, is seen bows-on; its flanked by the Champlain and the Lafayette, the three steaming toward us in glorious union, like Liberte, Eqalite and Fraternite. Their reflections in the water, a second glance reveals, are the Eifel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe; the clear message is that these ships are equally deserving symbols of France; that they are, as labeled, France Afloat.
