Vilhelm Hammershøi (Danish, 1864–1916) Hammershøi is renowned for his meditative interior scenes, and this depiction of his apartment and studio at Bredgade 25 in Copenhagen is among the most imposing and mesmerizing of these. Sparsely furnished, the interior features only an artist's easel, a small side table visible through a half-open doorway, and a gilt-framed engraving hung high on the wall. Unseen windows cast large, geometric patches of cool sunlight on the walls and floors. The predominantly gray palette is restricted and sober, adding to the mysterious impression of emptiness and silence. Meticulously arranged and animated by a shimmering weave of thin, textured brushstrokes, the painting was executed near the end of Hammershøi's life when his international reputation was at its height.Art Prints are printed on heavy matte finish German art paper using the finest Canon archival inks. Frame is black natural wood and double white mattboards and Acrylite glazing.

Wall Murals are printed on 42" matte finish, self-adhesive PhotoTex fabric panels that combine and mount easily and are great for a smooth wall surface. We can custom make to any size, just ask.
