Though representations of high Western adventures and quasi-historical recreations were a staple of the Wild West extravaganzas, there remained plenty of room for good old-fashioned horsing around. And when one thinks of the Buffalo Bill Spectaculars, the only woman to immediately pop to mind is Annie Oakley. That, however, clearly wasn't the case, as this wonderful panorama of equestrian daring points out, showing a regiment of women riders in action that were as able to raise as much hell as any of their male Rough Riding counterparts--and doing it sidesaddle to boot.
