Lugano

A native of Zurich, Baumberger regarded himself primarily as a painter, creating posters merely to generate some income.  Nonetheless, he produced a magnificent body of more than 200 posters, distinguished not by a style, but by stylistic diversity--each perfectly suited to the clients' needs.  Here, his soft pastels draw forth a cool and restful Lake Lugano.  Lugano is the sight of innumerable fetes, an Italian/Swiss tourist destination and health resort known as the ""Queen of the Ceresio,"" lying nestled in a beautiful bay and framed by a Mount Bre and Mount San Salvatore.  Set among the steep, but beautiful slopes of the Alps, it is the ideal location for warm-weather fun and frolic.  Rare!
