The Poster for the French Release of Fritz Lang's 1929 film Die Frau im Mond, ""The Woman on the Moon."" It is about a woman whom a scientist succeeds in transporting to the moon, where she discovers beings with rather human impulses. The Austrian-born Lang, visionary pioneer of the science-fiction film, worked in Germany until 1933; on the very night his Testament of Doctor Mabuse was banned by the Nazi's, he fled to France. A year later he went on to Hollywood, where he continued to direct until 1960. He died in 1976. Poster collectors know him best for the very fine posters for his films, including the rare ""M"" and the super-rare ""Metropolis.""
